Did you know that cellulite can be a cause of chronic inflammation in the body? Scientists are now coming up with new findings that the main cause of our difficulties with the development of cellulite is a disorder of the so-called microcirculation of body fluids (blood, tissue fluid, lymph) in the subcutaneous fat tissue. This leads to the gradual development of metabolic disorders and the so-called "creeping" development of inflammation, which gradually transforms the structure of the subcutaneous tissue and gives the skin the characteristic orange peel appearance. Our scientists have therefore focused primarily on supporting microcirculation, reducing the pro-inflammatory response and generally improving the metabolism of the subcutaneous tissue and skin.
Hundreds of articles have been written about cellulite, but it is still here and bothers women. For some women, it ceases to be a cosmetic problem and becomes a health and often painful one.
There is no simple and quick solution to the problem of cellulite; a comprehensive approach to both prevention and treatment by a trained specialist is appropriate, including, among other things, manual or instrumental lymphatic drainage, compression garments, adjustment of physical activity, and adherence to healthy lifestyle principles. Unfortunately, no quick "miracle" pill or ointment works on cellulite. Natural remedies, most often in the form of phytotherapy, both local and general, are also part of a comprehensive therapeutic approach. Revolutionary discovery by Czech scientists - cannabidiol can help with cellulite
A scientific team led by Assoc. Prof. Ing. Petr Kaštánek, PhD. focused on researching the effects of bioactive substances from microalgae and the anti-inflammatory effects of cannabis and its main active ingredients - cannabinoids (CBD). In cooperation with the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, research into the isolation and analysis of cannabinoids, as well as the determination of their biological activities, was carried out for 6 years. The research team found that selected cannabinoids from cannabis reduce, among other effects, the production of so-called pro-inflammatory cytokines, i.e., substances responsible for the development of local inflammation in the body.
"Cannabidiol (CBD) is a highly effective substance from hemp, obtained by advanced extraction and separation methods from industrial hemp based on research carried out by our company. It has no psychoactive effects but exhibits excellent anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. Its use in cosmetic products is (unlike the use of THC) legal," explains Petr Kaštánek, director of EcoFuel Laboratories and BIOCEN Laboratories.
Doc. Kaštánek has developed a range of supportive cosmetic products combining extracts from medicinal herbs rich in anti-inflammatory flavonoids and CBD (cannabidiol) - an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory cannabinoid from Cannabis sativa.
